Lady Gaga Posts Tearful Apology After Cutting Final

For the past couple of months, Lady Gaga has been out on the road for the Chromatica Ball, a tour in support of her 2020 album Chromatica. The final show of that tour took place in Miami on Saturday night, but it was cut short due to inclement weather. After getting through most of her set list, Gaga put the show on pause while telling the audience to move inside because a storm was coming through the area. While waiting to see whether or not the concert would continue, fans sang Gaga’s single “Rain On Me” amid some very loud claps of thunder. Gaga came back out on stage to announce the show’s official cancelation. “I’m sorry that we can’t finish, but I don’t want to put your life in danger and I don’t want to put our life in danger. So thank you, get home safely, God bless you, and tha...

Chaotic Facial Markings Express the Wildly Varied Emotions

Often dressed in stripes and animalistic patchwork hoods, the wildly expressive figures are covered in a chaotic mishmash of symbols and patterns. Barrera likens these markings to the idiom “it’s written all over your face,” a concept that, s...

Torche Will Break Up After Final Tour With Steve Brooks

Back in May, Torche singer-guitarist Steve Brooks announced he’d be leaving the band after one last tour this fall opening for Meshuggah. The band didn’t specify at the time whether they’d carry on with a new frontperson in Brooks’ absence, but — a few days after the release of new single “It Never Began” — two-month-old comments from Brooks’ personal Instagram are circulating, confirming that the band will be calling it quits after this tour. As The PRP points out, in response to a fan wondering if the band would carry on without him, Brooks wrote, “We’re done. Only plan on reissuing out of print records some day. Moving on.” In a separate post, he wrote: I had adventures in this band I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise and made many friends through touring. At this point, I ...

This is not a blip

When change happens it often takes the perspective of looking back years, or even decades, later to appreciate just how meaningful that change was. Other times, it happens so fast that it can be difficult to appreciate its magnitude because people become desensitised to the perpetual torrent of bad news. It is the latter situation in which we find ourselves now. What appears to be a succession of unrelated events (war, political crisis, climate change, inflation, etc.) are actually all indicators of a wider and connected wave of change that is going to reshape the world. And not just for a matter of months, but for a generation, perhaps more. It is tempting to think that the entertainment and consumer tech industries are, at the very least, insulated. But they are not. First, let us l...

Expelled from the solar system shortly after, the celestial matter captivated photographers around the world during its brief stint of visibility, including Gerald Rhemann who captured the illuminated body as its gas tail disconnected from its nucleus and was swept away by solar wind. The incredibly rare and brief event also garnered Rhemann the top p...
